Unable to find an Aussie-made version using the fresh ingredients she wanted, she pulled out the Thermomix and started experimenting with freshly picked chillies, garlic, verjuice, ginger, sugar and salt. It was simple, bold and packed with flavour, and an instant hit. Just six months later, we were making 200-litre batches. Back then, we called it Mr. Hot & Spicy, sitting alongside our Blokes Black Brekkie and Gentleman’s Shiraz Sauce. Today, it’s a Rich Glen favourite and just as delicious with dumplings and spring rolls as it is poured over cream cheese with crackers.
