ABOUT THE ARTIST | LAURAL LAWLESS
When I started this painting, I chose my colours and lost myself in the design, completely spontaneous, trying not to confine myself in any way. Slowly but surely, textures, details and shapes begin to form.
My intention as an artist is to tell a story through my work. I envisage the viewer pausing, observing all the small pieces that conclude the story.
In this particular piece, I was requested to create a Christmas story. My challenge was to retain my own original style, creating an Australian landscape celebrating Christmas with moments of joyful colour, texture and fun but also an area of calm serenity.
This commission was exciting, a challenge with moments of anxiety, yet, this is what art is all about.

We are the Vodusek Family, 4th generation Olive farmers located in the sun-blessed regional Victorian town of Yarrawonga, on the mighty Murray River.
With a current planting of over 36,000 olive trees, we produce in excess of 200,000 litres of premium extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) annually. We grow, pick, press and bottle our entire range of over 170 olive oil based products on-site here at our olive farm in Yarrawonga.
